Rosa, My Garden (Chapter 1, pt. 2)

Jake woke to the morning light skimming through the blinds. He sat up in bed and stared at the chair from the night before. Now he wasn't sure if he had been dreaming or if he had been wide awake. Sweat gleamed on his skin and his hair was tousled into a rat's nest. He felt clammy. It was time for a shower.

He had slept naked since before him and Rosa. That's one thing that's not changed. He walked into the bathroom and slipped in the shower. As the hot water rolled down his body, he began to think about Rosa again. He had dreamed of her last night. This time he was holding a baby. That part he didn't understand. All he knew is he had to try to find Rosa. Maybe this time he would succeed. He had to try; had to keep trying to find her. He wanted a life with her and he couldn't' stand that fact that he had no idea where she was or how she was doing. He had no clue if she was even alive. All he knew, all he cared about was finding his love.

******************************************************************************************

Rosa woke next to her four year old son. She was so tired of running; so tired of being alone. Her son, a hybrid (part vampire, part human), was the only one that could go out and play during the day time. He was a morning child; had been his whole life; was outside playing now. Rosa watched from the shadows of the staccato house. She'd been hiding her for the past eight months, but soon she will have to move again. People get suspicious when they don't see their neighbor out until the night time comes. She has heard some rumors already. She was friendly, but she knew to stay her distance. She couldn't risk her child's life. Randen was the only thing she had to share with Jake. Now all she has to do is to find away to tell him of his son. Would he love him? Could he accept the fact of helping raise him? Would he accept her for who she really is?

For six years she had stayed with him; lying to him. She said she worked at a telemarketer on third shift. That way she could stay out all night to feast while he lay at home and slept. That was until she found out she was pregnant. Something that rarely happens to any vampire, but it had happened for her. It was a blessing and a curse. She had no choice but to run away and leave Jake behind. But her love for him burns like a fire that won't be put out. And the only thing left to do now is to go back with Randen by her side.

novels
the wench and Spawn read something about Carpathiens ( the main character is a vampire) but I 'm not sure if it's the same series. and yes there is a mass appeal to gothic romances especially about vampires.
But maybe we assume too much? Let's see with the next part
